Materials & Specifications
We process a wide range of technical fabrics for industrial use:
- Synthetic fabrics: polyamide (PA), polyester (PES), PEEK, polypropylene (PP) and fluoropolymers (ETFE, ECTFE, PVDF).
- Specialty fabrics: double-layer, monofilament and multifilament fabrics.
- Metal mesh: stainless steel wire mesh (incl. dutch weave and reinforced dutch weave).
- Fibre media: technical non-wovens and needle felts.
Our stainless steel mesh is available in mesh sizes from 25 µm to 10,000 µm (10 mm).
Our synthetic mesh is available in a fineness range from 1 µm to 5,000 µm (5 mm).
For an accurate material selection we ideally need the following information:
- Required filter fineness (mesh size) and fabric thickness
- Application and mechanical load
- Ambient temperature and thermal requirements
- Chemical influences (e.g. contact with acids, alkalis or cleaning agents)
Manufacturing & Technical Capabilities
We offer comprehensive fabrication according to technical drawings using the following processes:
- Cutting: millimetre-precise laser cutting, punching and hot-cutting.
- Joining: ultrasonic welding, high-frequency welding and conventional reinforcement seams for fine mesh sizes.
- Further processing: injection moulding and plastic overmoulding as well as a professional sieve tensioning service.
Yes. We manufacture exclusively to customer order, based on individual specifications or technical drawings, and actively support you in product development.
We manufacture flexibly from a quantity of 1 piece (prototypes and one-offs) up to industrial series production in high volumes.
Yes. To help you determine the ideal material we provide free fabric samples. As part of product development we also manufacture tailor-made prototypes.
Yes. Our experienced application engineers provide free advice on material selection, design and optimisation of your sieve and filter solution. We support you from initial idea to series production – by phone, email or on site.
Quality, Origin & Industries
We safeguard your quality standards with the following documents:
- Mill test certificates according to EN 10204-2.1 and inspection certificates 3.1
- Initial sample inspection reports (ISIR)
- Declarations of conformity for food contact (e.g. FDA, EU 10/2011)
Our quality management system is fully certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Rheinland – since 2005. More information on our quality page.
Yes. All fabrication, processing and quality control of our products takes place exclusively at our site in Waldkirch, Germany.

The company was founded in 1861 as Franz Eckert & Cie. in Waldkirch and looks back on more than 160 years of experience in fabric processing. The current Franz Eckert GmbH was re-established in 1983. More on our company history.
Logistics & Ordering
Yes. All materials are available as roll material. The minimum order quantity for stock material is 1 linear metre. We are happy to check the available fabric widths individually on request.
- Stock material (roll goods): usually shipped the same day.
- Custom-made parts: delivery times for laser-cut, welded or injection-moulded components depend on complexity and are specified precisely in the quotation.
