Our
history

Founded as a weaving mill for silk ribbon in 1861 by Franz Eckert
from Appenzell the company Franz Eckert & Cie. produced "Swiss
silk bolting cloth" or "milling
gauze" from 1875 on.
With the further development of synthetic fabrics the milling
gauze made of genuine silk lost more and more importance. At
the beginning of the 1970s the last wooden weaving looms for
silk weaving were scrapped.
The new focus was on the distribution of screening
and filtering fabrics just as the manufacturing of these
fabrics.
In 1983 The Franz Eckert GmbH - Vertrieb von Filterstoffen
developed from the Franz Eckert & Cie. AG.
As a now again independent company especially the different
techniques of the making-up
production were constantly developed further.
First there were the sewing and the stamping, at the beginning
of the 1980s injection
molding was started, in the middle of the 1990s the first
laser-cutting facility was set in motion.
Today every year several thousands of manufactured screens,
hundred thousands of laser cuttings and millions of stampings
leave the plant. |
